However, people have Netflix to enjoy while sitting home during this quarantine period. But looks like there are chances of content getting controlled on the digital platform too.

Yesterday, Thierry Breton, the European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services tweeted that he spoke to the CEO of Netflix Reed Hastings to control the content to avoid network issues. Thierry shared, “Important phone conversation with Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix. To beat COVID-19, we stay at home. Teleworking and streaming help a lot but infrastructures might be in strain. To secure Internet access for all, let’s switch to Standard Definition when HD is not necessary.”

As reported by The Verge, the Netflix content in the UK is now reduced by 25 per cent. However, so far, these changes have been made only in the UK. It is yet unknown if the same step will be taken in India or the US.
