Some reality TV separations are shocking to the audience. Amanda Batulas and Kyle Cooke’s breakup, however, felt less like a surprise and more like the last episode of a storm that had been raging for years in the making.

The Summer House stars announced their separation in January 2026, after 10 years of a relationship and four years of a marriage. The couple took to Instagram stories to announce their divorce and said it was a mutual and amicable decision. However, to those who have been tracking their journey since 2015, the warning signs had been lingering for a long time.

The Official Split Came After “Much Reflection”

In their joint statement, shared on Instagram Stories on January 19, 2026, Amanda and Kyle said: “After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple.” They added that the decision followed a heavy heart and requested privacy as they focused on their healing and self-development.

While the announcement was measured and respectful, the fans of Summer House have known that Amanda and Kyle’s marriage had been under pressure for several seasons. The separation might have been friendly on paper, but emotionally, it appeared to be the culmination of long-term unresolved issues.

Kyle’s Cheating History Casts a Long Shadow

One of the biggest rifts in their relationship is traced back to 2017-2018, when Kyle openly confessed to cheating on Amanda during one of his guys’ trips. The confession became one of the most discussed storylines on Summer House and left an irreparable dent in their relationship.

Another recurring problem was their long-term compatibility. The couple had openly discussed disputes over the number of children, family planning, and lifestyle. Even Kyle himself acknowledged that the news gave him second thoughts about some of the things he had done in summer 2025, particularly the proximity between Amanda and West. For fans, this twist turned an already chaotic breakup into a full-blown reality TV drama.

So What Really Went Wrong?

The fact is, there does not appear to be one single reason. Their breakup seems to stem from years of trust issues, verbal outbursts, incompatibility in life goals, and emotional burnout between Amanda and Kyle. Love is sometimes persevered through madness. Sometimes it doesn’t. And for Amanda and Kyle, it appears that the cracks had just grown too deep to mend.

The Strained Couple is Returning in Summer House 10

The Summer House season 10 will expose the cracks in Kyle and Amanda’s marriage as they return to the drama. Early teasers suggest growing tension, as Amanda is annoyed by Kyle’s DJ lifestyle and the constant late nights out. A single episode of Kyle coming home early in the morning hours appears to have contributed to an already tense relationship. As they both return for the new season, the audience will likely see the disintegration of their marriage unfold on screen, making their January 2026 split even more difficult to watch.
