The Good Lord Bird Trailer: ShowTime’s Upcoming American drama mini-series The Good Lord Bird finally has a trailer and it manages to make us excited with its premise. Based on James McBride’s National Book Award-winning novel of the same name, the limited series is set in the time when the state was a battleground between pro- and anti-slavery forces and stars Ethan Hawke in a never seen before avatar.
The central character Onion becomes a part of Brown’s family which consists of abolitionist soldiers during Bleeding Kansas.
The child later finds himself amidst the famous 1859 raid on the Army Depot at Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Brown was a leading figure in the abolitionist movement in pre-Civil War U.S.who intended to end slavery by the means of aggression against slaveholders. His raid couldn’t initiate the revolt among slaves as he wanted but became an important part of initiating the American Civil War.
The 7-part series promises an amazing mix of humour and drama with its trailer and will surely leave you asking for more. Also, who would not want to see Ethan Hawke spreading magic with his calibre on screen. The actor has raised our expectations with the trailer already and we can’t wait for August now.
