Selena Gomez is a well-known personality who is often in the middle of controversies, mostly because of her personal life. But this time, she has been under the limelight for allegedly imitating Palestinian artist Sarah Bahbah’s work in her latest music video, Love On. Sarah has accused Gomez of plagiarism again! A few days back, Gomez’s latest single was released, and it featured the artist in various outfits with different couples around her kissing while she traveled around the City of Love, Paris. The singer recently revealed being in a relationship with music producer Benny Blanco. In 2018, netizens accused her of plagiarism over her video Back to You.
But this time, Sarah Bahbah slammed Selena Gomez in a video. The artist revealed she received messages from several people who allegedly told her Selena was ripping off her art. She shared that she has made this video after seeking advice from various people in the entertainment industry. Sarah also claims that this often happens to women of color. Bahbah further mentioned that she is Palestinian before diving into how Gomez plagiarized her art.
She said, “I was taken aback because not only it was shot in a style that heavily resembles a lot of my art, but it was also shot in the same location where I shot two of my short films in.” I Like You and Untangled are the two short films released in 2022 and 2023, respectively. She also revealed that she is getting millions of views for her works. Sarah tagged Selena Gomez in her video on Instagram.
Many suggested in the comment section that Selena Gomez should just hire Sarah Bahbah instead of copying her work. One of the users commented, “This is like really wild. Don’t let anyone gaslight you into thinking she didn’t steal ur aesthetic. This is, like, blatant plagiarism. I’m shook rn.”
Another said, “She could have just hired you.”
One fan defending Selena Gomez wrote, “I’m sorry girl, but this is reaching… Even you took inspiration from others in your work. There is nothing “unique” or “signature” in images of a woman on a balcony in a white bathrobe having breakfast. This is something that has been seen over and over again, and you cannot possibly take credit for that.”
Another user quipped, “Not a Zionist ripping off a Palestinian artist during a literal genocide.”
“Zionism is its full effect … stealing is their leitmotiv,” added one.
Another Selena fan wrote, “Girl, you realize she hired people to be the creative designers for the video she didn’t do all that she just does the vocals and shows up to look pretty on camera.. you should be tagging the creative director for stealing your work, not Selena..”
Followed by one slamming Sarah, “Do you think you’re the center of the universe? I see no similarities you’re just grabbing attention move on.”
And, “That girl is so problematic.”

Previously, Selena received a lot of backlash for her comment on the Israel-Palestine conflict. She posted about it via her IG Story and wrote, “I’ve been taking a break from social media because my heart breaks to see all of the horror, hate, violence, and terror that’s going on in the world. People being tortured and killed or any act of hate towards any one group is horrific. We need to protect ALL people, especially children, and stop the violence for good.” Gomez continued, “I’m sorry if my words or a hashtag will never be enough for everyone. I just can’t stand by innocent people getting hurt. That’s what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But a post won’t.”
