Robert Downey Jr, Cillian Murphy, and Christopher Nolan won their first Oscars and maintained the winning streak of this trio. Emma Stone took home her second trophy after 2016’s La La Land. Meanwhile, Musk often stays in the news for his comments, and his relationship with Amber Heard has been in the limelight for a substantial amount of time.
The Oscars 2024 took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. It was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. On March 11, Elon Musk, who is now the owner of the social media platform X, took to his official handle and wrote, “Winning an Oscar now just means you won the woke contest.” In another post, he continued, “When an award is diluted, everyone knows, including those who received it, and it no longer commands respect.”
It is unclear why Elon Musk said these things at the Oscars 2024. Some netizens asked Musk to chill out and enjoy the Award night, while others criticized him for his comments. One of the users asked, “What does woke mean, guys? I’d love to know!”
Another coaxed, “Being woke is far better than killing a few hundred thousand people, but you don’t seem to condemn the latter.”
A user quipped, “You think if Oppenheimer wins it’s because it’s woke?”
One person said, “Get lost.”
