Amber Heard filed for divorce from Johnny Depp in 2016. She accused him of physical abuse under the influence of alcohol. The Aquaman actress, however, fell into trouble when her audio of confessing physical abuse got leaked. Furthermore, her relationship with Elon Musk came into limelight. That made things more difficult for her.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean actor is currently fighting two legal battles. One is the $50 million defamation suit against ex-wife Amber. Another is the Johnny Depp libel suit against the leading daily, The Sun. The media portal termed him as a ‘wife-beater’ in one of their articles on the 2015 infamous fight between the couple.
Now, Amber Heard is demanding that the libel case against The Sun should be thrown out. The defendants of the newspapers have been arguing Johnny Depp has been unable to disclose texts of his illegal drug abuse. This, in turn, should lead to the case being dismissed.
However, Depp’s lawyers have been arguing that the core issue of the case was not his ‘drug use.’ Hence, they have not revealed the texts.
David Sherborne, the actor’s representative said, “The defendants claim, wrongly, that Mr Depp has withheld this document because it is ‘profoundly damaging to his case’; their implied accusation being that he withheld it deliberately. This is untrue.”
Furthermore, Johnny Depp exposed Amber Heard when he revealed they used to do drugs together. “I have been open about my challenges with alcoholism and addiction [all] my life.” Said Depp adding that no alcohol or drug had her end up being violent against his ex-wife. He also said that he and the Justice League actress “took drugs together” but “these were not common occurrences.”
Johnny also claimed that he took MDMA, magic mushrooms and cocaine with Heard occasionally.
