John Stamos is opening up about his personal life in his tell-all memoir If You Would Have Told Me. Ahead of his memoir’s release, the Full House actor is already making bombshell revelations about his past relationships and heartbreaks. The latest one is how he caught his then-girlfriend Teri Copley in the same bed with Tony Danza.
Stamos, who began his acting career in the early 1980s with the soap opera General Hospital, is also widely known for his stint in Full House, which also starred the late actor Bob Saget. Throughout his acting career of decades, Stamos has appeared in various movies and TV shows.
He has now penned down his entire life in his new memoir and in one of the excerpts, he revealed how his former girlfriend, Teri Copley, cheated on him. John Stamos recently threw more light on the incident, which took place in the 80s, during an interview with People and revealed that it left him in tears and called it “physically painful.”

John Stamos said, “I can’t explain it, but I would’ve rather been punched in the nose again or something because the pain is so overwhelming.” The Friends star continued, “Looking back, it’s like, probably, she wasn’t the right girl for me. So seeing him, realizing it was him and stuff, it was hard. I mean, it was awful.”
Further going into detail, Stamos revealed that he walked into Copley’s guesthouse and found out that she was sleeping in bed with another man. It took him some time to realize it was Tony Danza, but he found out that the man had ribbed abs. He said, “At first I was like, ‘I’m going to kick his…’ I didn’t know it was [Danza] yet. I see his abs. I’m like, ‘Maybe not. F*ck it.’ And I ran.” He added that he was in tears as he ran down the driveway and did not want anybody to see him.
He came to know it was Tony Danza after he saw Copley’s poster signed “My Dear Tony” in an unknown car parked in the actress’ driveway. However, Teri Copley denied cheating on Stamos as she mentioned that they were already broken up at that time. She said, “I wondered, ‘What was John doing there?’ because we had broken up.” “He looked at me and shook his head, and walked away.”
However, John Stamos described Copley as a nice person and said that she should not have cheated on him. He also added how their breakup left him broken. “I didn’t become a man for a long time and I think she was… I don’t know. I was broken,” he added.
Stamos later moved on and even tied the knot with Rebecca Romijn in 1998. The duo got divorced in 2005. In 2020, John Stamos got married to Caitlin McHugh, who is 23 years younger than him.
