Many Hollywood celebrities never shy away from standing up for what they believe is right. During the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, we saw how every major movie and TV star walked the street to protest for the rights of the actors and the writers. The latest news is about actor Hunter Schafer’s arrest during a protest, who rose to popularity due to HBO’s Euphoria.
As reported by BNN Breaking, Hunter Schafer was protesting with the Jewish Voice for Peace community. They all were demanding a ceasefire in Palestine. The actor was present with many other activists at NBC’s 30 Rockefeller Center in New York. On The Late Night Show with Seth Meyers, US President Joe Biden was scheduled to appear, and the protesters wanted to disturb his appearance.
The actor from Euphoria was one of fifty people detained for calling for an end to the months-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict. A few of the actor’s fans shared pictures and videos of Hunter and others saying slogans, demanding Biden to call the ceasefire. In one of the videos, the protestors are holding a banner that reads -Jews to Biden, Stop Arming Genocide.
Hunter and other activists also wore t-shirts with powerful messages against the genocide. On the X (formerly Twitter) platform, netizens praise the actress for her courage. One person wrote, “the fact that hunter schafer has more courage and conviction than her “a list” peers… phew. we love you hunter.” Another posted, “Hunter is a real one for this, i have so much respect for her especially since she’s such a known name in the industry.”

On the work front, Hunter’s last release was a horror film called Cuckoo, released in February 2024. The Tilman Singer directorial also stars Dan Stevens, Jessica Henwick and Jan Bluthardt. She also starred in the 2023 film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Hunter is also a part of the Euphoria series, where she plays Jules Vaughn. The HBO series also stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Storm Reid and others.
