It was last month when we spotted Ellen and Portia as they were running errands amid the lockdown. DeGeneres looked happy and completely unbothered about all that was happening around. Unfortunately, it seems a lot has changed ever since.
Rumours are rife that Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia De Rossi have been fighting non-stop amid these tough times. If that isn’t enough, their friends have started feeling that they aren’t the endgame. But their divorce would be as expensive as $500 million for the US host.
A report by InTouch Weekly states that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi did not sign any prenuptial agreement. So, Rossi would barely have anything to lose. But the same isn’t the case with DeGeneres.
“Ellen’s estimated to be worth $500 million, and since they’ve been married for more than ten years in California and to my knowledge don’t have a prenup, Portia will be entitled to be a bigger piece of the pie than if they had split a few years ago. It could be one way for Portia to get even with Ellen for putting her through hell for so long,” the source to the development said.
All of this is turning out to be really difficult for Ellen DeGeneres. While earlier it was her professional life, now her personal life is dwindling too. “First, there was the employee backlash after her show’s staff was forced to take pay cuts as Ellen started taping at home [due to the coronavirus pandemic]. Then people started lashing out at her on social media, sharing stories about how ‘mean’ she is behind the scenes. Now, she’s stressing out about the possibility of her show being axed. It’s not looking good – ratings are down,” the source added.
Meanwhile, recently rumours were rife that The Ellen Show is getting cancelled. However, the producers quashed all such rumours.
