Russo Brothers‘ next for Netflix, The Gray Man has been in the news for all the right reasons. With a stellar cast of Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, the action thriller has a good hype amongst the audience. Now, the buzz has spiked to another level as some important additions in the form of Dhanush, Jessica Henwick and others have taken place.
Yes, you read that right! After fetching superstar status in Tamil industry and making an impact in Bollywood, the 37-years-old is making footprints in Hollywood too. He is the value addition to Russo’s upcoming action thriller. The same has been confirmed by Netflix.
Taking to Twitter, Netflix’s official account tweeted, “THE GRAY MAN cast just got even better. Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Dhanush, and Julia Butters will join Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas in the upcoming action thriller from directors Anthony and Joe Russo.”
Now, this news regarding The Gray Man has really made a day of all Dhanush Fans!
The film is based on Mark Greaney’s 2009 novel of the same name. The details of the Maari actor’s character are kept under wraps. This is his second Hollywood project after The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir.
Meanwhile, speaking on the film, Anthony Russo (one half of Russo Brothers) had said, “The movie is a real mano a mano between those two great actors who represent two different versions of the CIA, in what it can be, and what it can do. For those who were fans of Captain America: Winter Soldier, this is us moving into that territory in more of a real-world setting. That’s what t his movie really means for us.
The intention is for it to be competitive with any theatrical, and the ability to do with Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans is a dream for us. The idea is to create a franchise and build out a whole universe, with Ryan at the centre of it. We have all committed to the first movie, and that’s got to be great to get us to the second movie. These are master assassins, and Gosling’s characters gets burned by the CIA and Evans’ character has to hunt him down,” reports Deadline.
