Not only Marvel fans but also Disney’s CEO Bob Iger is hopeful about Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s upcoming movie Deadpool & Wolverine. The past few MCU films have failed to impress audiences in the theatres and bring back the business, which earlier films used to do. Iger dismissed the theory of Marvel fatigue and revealed how they had strategized their slate. Scroll below for more.
What does Bob Iger think about Deadpool & Wolverine?
In an interview with THR, Iger rejected the idea of superhero fatigue being the reason behind Marvel’s failure in recent times. He reveals that Disney silently canceled many projects and focused on quality over quantity.
Bob Iger predicted Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer Deadpool & Wolverine will do well at the theatres. He said it “will be one of the more successful Marvel movies we’ve had in a long time.” He explained himself on the fatigue point and added, “They want great films. And if you build it well, they will come, and countless examples exist. Some are ours, and some are others. Oppenheimer is a perfect example of that. Just a fantastic film.”
He also revealed they have reduced Marvel’s output in films and TV shows. Deadpool & Wolverine is the MCU film to be released this year. Marvel’s Echo was released this year and was well-appreciated by the fans. Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is also expected to come out in 2024.

1. Multiple Deadpools
We, too, align with Bob Iger’s thoughts on the upcoming Deadpool movie. One significant reason to believe it will be successful at the box office is Ryan Reynolds’s convincing and entertaining performance as Wade Wilson. He showed his magic in the previous two movies, which earned an impressive profit at the box office.
2. Hugh Jackman’s return
Secondly, Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine. Hugh has played the role for years and is adored by fans for his performance. People would flock to the theatres to watch their favorite mutant back in action. And since his character’s name is also included in the film’s title, fans expect him to have more extensive screen time.
3. Several mutants are expected to appear
Besides Hugh’s Logan, other X-Men characters are scheduled to appear on Deadpool & Wolverine. We have already seen Pyro in the film’s first teaser. Plus, the film’s actor Karan Soni has recently revealed there will be a lot of cameos and surprises in Deadpool & Wolverine, which makes it more intriguing. Hopefully, they avoid repeating the same mistake as Doctor Strange 2. The cameos were rendered useless in the 2022 movie.
4. The multiversal travel-
It is believed to be a multiversal movie where Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool will allegedly travel the multiverse with Wolverine. One DP is entertaining enough; imagine seeing multiple Wade Wilsons; the conversations between them will be riots. Spider-Man: No Way Home did exceedingly well by bringing three Spideys into the movie. Marvel might use that formula again and gain commercially.

There are a lot of theories online about Deadpool & Wolverine. People claim that the TVA took Logan because he altered the X-Men: Days of Future Past events. Another theory referring to the snowy forest from the film’s teaser claimed that Deadpool will retcon Wanda into a mutant.
One of the theories claimed that Deadpool used Cable’s device to get his friends, including Vanessa, back, or he joined them in their universe and killed Wade there.
There is also a theory about Avengers: Secret Wars. There was an easter egg about Secret Wars in the teaser, and fans believe this movie will serve as a prelude to Avengers 6.
How was the film’s trailer?
Deadpool & Wolverine’s trailer gave the fans glimpses of Wade, and it was done strategically well. The teaser informed us of WOlverine’s presence but did not show him. It passed Spider-Man: No Way Home’s record of being the most-watched trailer by an impressive margin.
Trade analysts feel it will achieve the billion-dollar milestone with its lifetime collections. Deadpool & Wolverine is set to release on July 26.
