Director David Ayer is ‘heartbroken’ because the world didn’t see much of the footage of Jared Leto’s Joker as it was edited. But as of now, Jared Leto’s Joker is the most criticised version to date.
But do you know before Jared Leto was finalised to play Joker, DC had plans to bring another actor for the role? It was none other than La La Land’s Sebastian Ryan Gosling. We surely can imagine him as the quirky wicked Joker.
According to a trivia in ScreenRant, “It can be argued that the hardest role in the DCEU that Warner Bros. tried to cast was the Joker. After all, the last actor to play the Joker on the big screen was Heath Ledger and, for obvious reasons, those are some big shoes to fill. The pressure alone could scare some actors off.

Gosling was asked to play the Joker, but because he was not willing to sign a multi-film contract commitment, he declined their offer. Warner Bros. then moved on to the next name on their shortlist: Jared Leto, who accepted.”
