Varun Dhawan has been on a dream run at the box office as the actor has not failed a single time since his debut in 2012. Including Student of The Year, the young actor has worked in 9 films and all have them have been successful at the box office. While Student of The Year, Badlapur and Badrinath Ki Dulhania attained the Super-Hit verdict, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Judwaa 2 were termed as box office Hits.
Varun Dhawan’s run at the box office can simply be compared to the likes of Rajesh Khanna (1969 to 1972) and Salman Khan (2010 to 2018), although the magnitude of hits delivered by Rajesh Khanna and Salman Khan were much higher. While Rajesh Khanna acted in 15 consecutive successful films in a span of 3 years, Salman Khan has delivered 12 consecutive successful films and the count is expected to increase further with Race 3 slated to release this Eid.

If October proves to be a successful venture, Varun Dhawan will become one of those rare actors in the history of Bollywood to have delivered 10 consecutive successful films. The biggest factor that works in the favour of October is the fact that the film is made on a controlled budget and the film shouldn’t find it tough to emerge a box office success if it commands a good word of mouth. On the negative side, the film is not one of those commercial films that Varun Dhawan has been a part of throughout his career and the audience appeal is like his 2015 Hit film, Badlapur.

Shoojit Sircar has a track record of delivering content-driven films which often strike the chord with the audience. It would be interesting to see if the director helps Varun Dhawan find a place in the prestigious list of record holders who have delivered 10 consecutive successful films. After October, Varun Dhawan will be seen in Sui Dhaaga and Ranbhoomi.
