Welcome Back had another good day at the Box Office as it brought in further 6.15 crore on Tuesday. The fact that there are substantial collections in the middle of the week as well means that the Anees Bazmee directed affair would enter the second weekend on a healthy note.

Welcome Back and Bajrangi Bhaijaan

As things stand today, the film has already collected 64.67 crore at the Box Office. This means that by tomorrow morning itself, the Anil Kapoor-John Abraham-Nana Patekar-Paresh Rawal film would beat the first week collections of ABCD 2 (71.78 crore) and Tanu Weds Manu Returns (70.02 crore), both of which went on to enter the 100 crore club. The film would be next only to Bajrangi Bhaijaan which has enjoyed the highest Week One this year. Now that would be great indeed for Firoz Nadiadwallah and Eros who backed up the film with great confidence.

What is all the more noticeable about the family entertainer is the fact that unlike numerous other hits (or perception successes), Welcome Back has seen minimal traction on social media. Other than the conventional marketing through Twitter and Facebook, it hasn’t really seen the fan base of the stars or the directors go crazy in terms of trending the film, talking about the collections or promoting the terrific run it has been having.

Now that’s a point to ponder as it shows quite clearly that there is an India outside the computers/cellphones where word of mouth, and not 140 characters or a Retweet/Share/Like button, that brings in the audience.
