After witnessing an underwhelming response, War 2 finally displayed impressive growth in the advance booking yesterday. The much-awaited pre-sales were opened in Telugu states on Tuesday (August 13), and as expected, Jr NTR fans showed enthusiasm in booking the movie tickets. As a result, there was a massive hike in per-hour ticket sales on BookMyShow, and overall, there was a jump of over 100% in day 1 bookings at the Indian box office. Yesterday, the confusion over the movie ticket prices was cleared. In Telangana, the government rejected the price hikes for Coolie and the War sequel, while in Andhra Pradesh, both releases were allowed to hike ticket rates. After this official decision, shows were listed for the advance booking.
War 2 displays a massive jump in day 1 advance booking
Jr NTR, being a huge star in the Telugu market, has started flexing his stardom by attracting impressive ticket sales in no time. As per 10 am IST, War 2 has sold 3.48 lakh+ tickets in India for day 1, grossing around 9.9 crores (excluding blocked seats) at the Indian box office. At the same time yesterday, the film had sold tickets worth 4.2 crore gross. If a comparison is made, the film displayed a massive jump of 135.71% in just 24 hours.
Out of the 3.48 lakh+ tickets sold for the opening day, the Hindi version sold around 1.82 lakh tickets, while the Telugu version sold around 1.49 lakh tickets.
In the last 24 hours, the Telugu version has jumped significantly, clearly indicating the star power of Jr NTR. As more shows are getting listed for advance booking in Andhra Pradesh, expect a massive boost throughout the day. Between 9:18 am and 10:18 am IST, War 2 has sold around 18K tickets on BookMyShow.

With a gross collection of 9.9 crores for day 1 at the Indian box office, the Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer has surpassed Housefull 5 (8.02 crores) and Saiyaara (9.4 crores) to register the third-best opening day pre-sales for Bollywood in 2025. With still one more day to go for the grand release, the film is expected to grab the first spot by crossing Sikandar (10.09 crores) and Chhaava (13.85 crores).
