The Amazing Spiderman 2 earned in the range of 90 lacs at the domestic box office on its 2nd Monday. With that the film’s cumulative income so far rests at 48 crores in the India circuit. The film obviously benefitted a lot from the underwhelming performances of the new releases at the box office.
With none other than Mastram and Hawaa Hawaai even making a decent income, the week belonged to 2 States and The Amazing Spiderman 2 alone.
Obviously in India, the film could have fared better but due to the ongoing IPL Season hogging the limelight, the film’s growth wasn’t exactly brilliant. The film has been earning steadily even in its dubbed version, though its English version earning slightly more than its Hindi version.
The film’s prime target audiences is children and the younger folk whose attention is divided between IPL and elections. The film’s collections might see growth again in the weekend but over the weekdays the numbers will remain in the range of lacs, finding it difficult to touch the crore mark even.
