The biggest reason is that both films belong to the romantic comedy genre, and their content is light-hearted. Both are typical Bollywood mid-sized films and have a moderate budget. In terms of pre-release buzz, both films were dull, and expectations were low about their box office performance.
ZHZB’s theatrical run at the Indian box office
Upon its release, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke saw decent reviews coming in. Along with favorable word-of-mouth and chartbuster music, the film managed to enjoy a steady run after a decent start of 5.49 crores. It ended the opening week at 37.35 crores, and all thanks to support from young audiences, the film showed strong legs in its theatrical run.
