Tenet Box Office: John David Washington-Robert Pattinson’s Film Paces Up Post Its Release In The New Markets

Owing to the pandemic scare amongst the people, we had our fingers crossed on Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. Featuring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson, the film had a huge pre-release buzz but the COVID- 19 scene created a not-so-good condition for a theatrical run.
But guess what? The thriller has surprised one and all by its pace at the box office. Made at an estimated cost of $200 million, the film is all set to emerge as a first major success post theatres’ reopening. It opened in new markets like the US, China and Russia, during the weekend.
In all, Tenet is currently running in the aforementioned regions and in some parts of Europe, Asia, and Australia.
Speaking of Tenet’s global box office performance, it has made an approximate total of $146.2 million. The film is now all set to hit $150 million mark. Owing to the pace, the Christopher Nolan directorial is assured of garnering commercial success.
Also, Tenet will witness a release in several countries, once theatres are reopened. So, the film surely looks in a safe zone now.
As per Deadline, out of the $78.3 million weekend total, an estimated $20.2 million is garnered in the US and Canada over a five-day period including Monday of the North American Labor Day long weekend. While the remaining $58.1 million is coming in from all other markets around the world. China (with $30 million) is the biggest contributor in the weekend collection. Tenet is the best performing film of Christopher Nolan in China, to date.
