Varun Tej’s Operation Valentine has been released all across the country, and the early reviews are already in. As of now, the film is in a position to mark a fair start at the Indian box office, but that won’t be considered up to the mark. Directed by Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, the action thriller has been receiving mixed reviews from critics, with many calling out its dull screenplay. Talking about the public reactions, so far, the response has been mixed, and it is expected to cause a dent in the film’s opening day run, especially by impacting the evening and night shows.
Day 1 expectation
Considering a low pre-release buzz, Operation Valentine opened to dismal occupancies all across the country. It was obvious that the film would open comparatively better in the Telugu states, but still, it’s really on the lower side. Considering the reception is mixed, a huge turnaround would be missing in evening and night shows. Thus, the overall opening day would suffer.

Looking at the current picture, Operation Valentine is expected to earn 3-4 crores on day 1 at the Indian box office. The film should have earned at least 5 crores, but that seems to be not happening now. So, such a start is just about fair.
Operation Valentine VS Varun Tej’s recent films
Varun Tej’s last release, Gandeevadhari Arjuna, was a box office disaster, and it marked a start of just 1.40 crores at the Indian box office. So, if compared to it, Varun’s latest release is expected to take a much better start.
Before Gandeevadhari Arjuna, the actor was seen in F3: Fun and Frustration. As it was a standalone sequel, it enjoyed the benefit of the franchise factor and registered a thunderous start of 15.50 crores at the Indian box office. So, in front of it, Operation Valentine stands nowhere.
