Mammootty’s latest Mollywood release, Bramayugam, is sailing steadily at the Indian box office during weekdays and is aiming to emerge as a good commercial success for the Malayalam film industry. As of now, it has come closer to the milestone of 20 crores net and will see a boost again during the weekend. Keep reading to learn more about the film’s collection and budget!
Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, the horror thriller was released in theatres on 15th February. Upon its arrival, the film enjoyed positive reactions from critics, and even word-of-mouth was favorable. However, even though a steady momentum has been seen, the overall collection has been on the limited side. It may be due to the dark and off-beat nature of the film.
Bramayugam at the Indian box office
Speaking about the collection, Bramayugam has completed a theatrical run of 8 days, and it fell below the 1 crore mark yesterday. Currently, the film stands at 17.95 crores net at the Indian box office. The mark of 20 crores will be crossed during the second weekend, and it’ll be interesting to see how the film fares during weekdays.
The Mammootty starrer is reportedly made on a limited budget of 15 crores. If compared with the domestic collection of 17.95 crores net, we can see that the film has already earned an ROI (return on investment) of 2.95 crores after recovering the cost involved. If calculated, it equals 19.66% returns.
So, Bramayugam is already in a safe zone, as per basic box office norms, but it will need to add a few more crores to emerge as a good commercial success. By the end of the week, the film will be a clean box office success, and it will be interesting to see how far it goes after that.
