Another surprise hit in the making?
The film is in the zone of The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story, and we all know how the latter two films surprised everyone with their final box office result. By earning over 200 crores net in India, both films turned out to be monstrous blockbusters. Upon the time of their release, both releases benefitted due to debate and controversial talks around them, and even this one is expected to reap the benefits of the same.
Day 1 advance booking status of Article 370
Today, on the occasion of Cinema Lovers’ Day, tickets across national cinema chains and other selected multiplexes are being sold at a discounted price of just 99 rupees. As a result, the films that have arrived in theatres today are enjoying a huge benefit, and Article 370 is one such film.

As per the trade buzz, Article 370 has sold around 1.21 lakh tickets through advance booking for day 1 in national cinema chains (PVR INOX & Cinepolis). This is a surprising number and sits in second place on the list of Bollywood’s opening day pre-sales in national cinema chains in 2024. Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter is at the top with 1.45 lakh tickets for day 1.
It is more than three times higher than the ticket sales of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (33K). It is also higher than big releases like Laal Singh Chaddha and Drishyam 2.
Day 1 expectation of Article 370
Looking at the pre-sales in national cinema chains, Article 370 could have taken a start of 11-12 crores on any given day, but here comes the factor of discounted ticket rates. With an average ticket price of 99 rupees in multiplexes, the film is now aiming for a start in the range of 5-7 crores on day 1, which is also a very good result. With positive word-of-mouth, this number might go higher.
