Clayface, starring Tom Rhys Harries, had a slow start at the box office. However, the film is showing momentum at the box office and achieving milestones. It is now inching closer to its break-even target. The film is expected to achieve the milestone in its third weekend.

How Much Has Clayface Earned So Far At The Worldwide Box Office?

DCU’s R-rated film is holding strongly at the box office in North America. On its discounted second Tuesday, the film earned $1.89 million, a 55% increase over its second-Monday collection. However, the film saw a 43% drop from its first Tuesday. The film has been playing on 3,478 screens in North America.

Clayface is now really close to touching the $50 million mark. The film is currently at $47.78 million domestically. It is just $10 million short of surpassing Joker 2’s domestic total, which was $58.3 million. Overseas, the film has earned $42.8 million, bringing its worldwide total to $90.5 million.

How Far Away Is It From Its Break-Even Target?

According to reports, the DCU movie had a production budget of $40 million, making it a fairly low-budget production. Therefore, to break even, the film must earn $100 million at the box office. To become profitable, it will have to earn more than $100 million. Clayface currently needs less than $10 million to reach its break-even target. At its current pace, the film should reach the milestone by the end of its third weekend.

What Is The Film About?

The film follows Matt Hagen, a rising movie star who is brutally disfigured by a local mob boss and volunteers for an experimental procedure to restore his original face. However, the treatment triggers a series of horrifying physical and psychological side effects, transforming his body into living clay. Clayface will be released on October 23.
