The Marvel Universe has never been short on complicated relationships. Be it siblings, father-son, or even enemies; name it, and Marvel would have it. Some make us happy, and some leave us shocked to the core.
While we are already aware of the famous siblings in the Marvel troupe, like Thor and Loki or Wanda and Pietro, some connections are much less obvious and can hardly be predicted.
In fact, you’ll be surprised to know that some of Marvel’s most dangerous villains and heroes are also related. Here are the four most disturbing Marvel relationships we never predicted in our worst dreams.
1. Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Magneto

Most Marvel fans are by now aware of the relationship between Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. They are the twins, but how does Magneto come into the picture? In Vision and the Scarlet Witch #4, Magneto revealed that he was Wanda and Pietro’s father. So, that makes Wanda and Pietro children of the X-Men’s greatest enemies?
This relationship theory from the comics is strengthened in the House of M storyline, where Wanda created an alternate reality ruled by Magneto’s family. However, Marvel later changed their origins in the 2015 Uncanny Avengers comics.

2. Ant-Man and Ultron

Did you know that one of Marvel’s most terrifying villains actually owes its existence to our very little Ant-Man? But it’s not a traditional relationship. In the Marvel comics, Hank-Pym, aka the OG Ant-Man, created Ultron as an AI experiment. He even based the robot’s mind on his own brain patterns, which unknowingly gave it personality.
But things went haywire when Ultron quickly developed a mind of its own. He eventually turned against Pym and became one of the Avengers’ deadliest enemies. So, Ultron is basically Ant-Man’s science child? However, the MCU never took up this theory and instead established that Tony Stark and Bruce Banner created Ultron.
3. Mystique and Nightcrawler

Mystique and Nightcrawler might have completely different powers, but their family origins go deep. In the Marvel comics, Mystique turns out to be Nightcrawler’s biological parent. ‘
But Marvel later overwrote that theory in 2023 X-Men: Blue Origins #1 and established that Mystique had used its shapeshifting abilities to become Kurt’s biological father.
4. Professor X and Juggernaut

We have Professor Charles Xavier and Juggernaut fight countless times, but we never predicted a relationship between them. But as it turns out, their rivalry was not simple; it was sibling rivalry. Cain Marko, aka Juggernaut, is Professor X’s stepbrother.
As per the comics, their parents married young and brought both children under the same roof. But over time, Cain started getting increasingly resentful of Charles, and soon, their difficult childhood relationship contributed to Cain’s hostility.
