Following a historic opening buzz on Thursday, director Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus Ramayana featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi is maintaining an absolute hold at the box office counters. As the film approaches its crucial First Friday (Day 2), advance bookings indicate an exceptional post-opening hold at the domestic box office.

Driven by strong word-of-mouth and intense multi-language festive demand, the film recorded a gross collection of 19.08 crore, excluding blocked seats, in advance collections for Day 2 alone. Over 5.03 lakh tickets have already been booked across 23,304 shows in India, setting the film up for another huge day at the domestic box office!

Currently, Maharashtra holds the #1 spot with a gross collection of 3.50 crore for day 2. Maharashtra leads all domestic territories for Friday pre-sales, accounting for 61,320 sold tickets. NCR & Mumbai lead the metro hubs, with Delhi hitting 2.83 crore gross collection against 42K sold tickets and Mumbai hitting 2.24 crore gross collection against 32K sold tickets.

The original Hindi version leads the charge, generating 15.36 crore gross (without blocked seats) across 19,884 shows with an Average Ticket Price of Rs 453. Driven by massive mass interest in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, the Telugu dubbed version added 1.82 crore gross collection against 1.09 lakh booked tickets across 1,662 shows.

Selling 5.03 lakh tickets and hitting nearly 20 crore gross in pure advance sales for its first Friday, Ramayana proves that its theatrical footprint is not merely a front-loaded opening day phenomenon. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra and Monster Mind Creations, Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s biggie is on course to deliver a monstrous opening weekend total as weekend spot bookings and family walk-in footfalls kick in starting Friday evening.
