With a reported budget of over 4,000 crore, this is the most expensive film from India aimed at a global audience. Backed by Namit Malhotra, the epic retells one of India’s oldest mythological tales.

Nitesh Tiwari, who previously delivered a blockbuster like Dangal, seems on track to break his own record. With the film hitting theaters today, audiences have shared their first reactions.

Audiences have been stunned by the film’s spectacular scale. Netizens took to X to share their thoughts on the film and have lauded Yash’s performance as Ravana in particular. Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are also being lauded for their performance as the central couple of the story.

More About Ramayana: Part 1
With a runtime of 3 hours and 15 minutes, it tells only half the story. The epic battle between Ram and Ravana has been scheduled for Part 2, which will be released in 2028. Producer Namit Malhotra has roped in the best technicians from across the world to deliver world-class cinema. For the music, AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer collaborated.
