Suriya’s Scene is among the year’s most anticipated releases. The film, directed by Jithu Madhavan, also marks Nazriya Nazim’s return to Tamil cinema after 12 years. It also marks the Kollywood debut of Naslen, who will be seen in a grey role in the film, standing up against Suriya’s character. The film promises a grand theatrical experience, especially given that it is from the same team behind the Malayalam hit Aavesham.

Scene Advance Box Office

The full-fledged advance booking for the film began only on Wednesday. More shows have now been added. While the film is in direct competition with Ramayana Part 1 and Mookuthi Amman 2 at the box office, Suriya’s film shows much promise. The advance collections began on a positive note. In just 24 hours, the film had crossed the 4 crore mark in India. With one day remaining, the film has crossed the 8-crore mark in India for its opening day.

According to trade trackers, the film has grossed 8.55 crore, with 4.82 lakh tickets sold across the country. The film is currently listed in 5,175 shows across 1,093 theaters in 395 cities. The film will definitely have a double-digit opening on Friday. If word of mouth turns positive, Scene will likely surpass the opening-day collections of Suriya’s previous films, Karuppu and Vishwanath & Sons. Both films had openings of over 15 crore in India and grossed over 200 crore worldwide by the end of their theatrical runs. Now, all eyes are on Scene and whether the actor can score a hat-trick of 200-crore grossers.

How Much Does Scene Need To Earn To Mark Suriya’s Biggest Opening Post-COVID?

Suriya has had two big releases this year: Karuppu and Vishwanath & Sons. The actor proved his stardom with both films. Now, the in-form actor is chasing a bigger milestone with Scene, which will be released during the Diwali weekend. Additionally, the film has an impressive cast and crew and will, in all likelihood, make a big mark at the box office during its opening weekend.

For Scene to become Suriya’s biggest opener post-COVID, the film needs to earn over 24 crore. His biggest opener has been the 2024 period drama Kanguva. While it may be difficult for the film to achieve that, it can still become his biggest opener of 2026. To achieve that, the film needs to earn just 16 crore on its opening day. With the festive season coinciding with its release, the film can potentially achieve this milestone.
