Box Office: Malang has stepped into the third week with reasonable collections of 0.80 crores*. The film faced major competition from new releases Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan and Bhoot – The Haunted Ship. However, it still managed to collect more than last week’s release Love Aaj Kal. Also, it is more than Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior, though that’s not saying much since the Ajay Devgn starrer is in its seventh week. Nonetheless, the Mohit Suri directed film has now touched 54.30 crores and should find itself around 57 crores mark before the close of the weekend.
Meanwhile, Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior has now achieved yet another huge milestone and that is of touching the 275 crores mark. The film continued to collect well on the seventh Friday as well with 0.50 crores* more added to its total. Now it should jump further over the rest of the weekend and that would allow it to find itself in the 276-277 crores range.
As for Love Aaj Kal, it is now spending its last few days in theaters. The film went down huge on the second Friday as only 0.50 crores* came in. Standing at just 36.50 crores*, the film would find itself around the 38 crores mark before the second week is through. While theatrically the film has flopped in a major way, leading actor Kartik Aaryan has already moved on to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the shooting of which is currently underway.
