It’s a 50!
In just 10 days, Article 370 has hit a half-century at the box office. After taking an opening of 6.12 crores, enjoying a weekend of 24.45 crores, and then scoring a first-week total of 38.82 crores, the film has now reached its first major milestone. The 50 crore mark has been crossed by the film in real quick time, and there is so much more that’s yet to come.
This was made possible by 7.25 crores more, which came on Sunday. This is just around a 30% drop when compared to last Sunday [10.25 crores]. It’s excellent because it is far better than industry standards, where most films actually take a hit of around 70%. Given the kind of run that it has been having and the appreciation that it has fetched, a superb hold like this isn’t surprising. In fact, now that Article 370 has broken through and actually got into that 7-8 crores zone on Sunday, it could well have an outside chance of a 100 Crore Club entry as well.
