Yami Gautam is one of the few actresses in Bollywood who are staying out of the limelight and letting their work do all the talking. Ever since she made her debut in 2012, the actress has slowly and steadily taken her career graph upwards in Bollywood and has managed to earn some credibility with her performances. Fortunately, that is even getting translated to the box office numbers. Keep reading to know more!
For those who don’t know, Yami made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with Vicky Donor alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. The film was a sleeper hit of that year, and after that film, she has been quite choosy about her projects. Despite being a good performer, Yami didn’t get to see consistency in success (only theatrical), but the last 5 years have really been a game-changer for her.
As we’re tracing Yami Gautam’s run of the last 5 years, the list starts with 2019’s all-time blockbuster, Uri: The Surgical Strike. While the film always looked promising, whatever it did after arriving in theatres was unbelievable. With extraordinary word-of-mouth, the film turned into a movement and enjoyed a long theatrical run. It ended its Indian box office run at 244.06 crores.

After Uri: The Surgical Strike, Yami Gautam was a part of Bala. Back then, Ayushmann Khurrana was enjoying a purple patch in his career and was unstoppable at the box office. Still, Yami had an important part to play in it and deserves a mention if we talk about the film’s success. Upon its release, the content was well received by audiences, and the film ended up earning 116.38 crores.
Yami’s third and last theatrical release in the last 5 years is OMG 2. Led by Pankaj Tripathi, the film featured Yami in an important and impactful role of a defense lawyer. As usual, she delivered a solid performance and contributed a bit to the film’s success. Despite a clash with Gadar 2, the OMG sequel turned out to be a Hit and earned 150 crores.
So, as we can see, Yami Gautam had just three theatrical releases in the last 5 years. If we combine the collection of all these releases, the total stands at 510.44 crores. If we calculate an average, it’s 170.14 crores per film at the Indian box office. Simply superb!
Let’s see how Article 370 turns out to be for Yami!
