Besharam‘s advance bookings that began on late Sunday managed to spark off an above average response overall. The film recorded a higher booking rate in the urban centers and multiplexes but remained dull in the single screens mostly.
With the film’s lead actor Ranbir Kapoor being a overtly suave star with a higher urban appeal than a mass value, the bookings reflect the trade expectations mostly. However, according to early estimates, the film’s evening shows are heavily booked in key circuits like U.P and Bihar (even in the single screens), whereas in Punjab and Rajasthan the film was average.

The multiplexes recorded an above average booking in most smaller and metropolitan cities! However, it won’t be faulty to predict that the film will see a better opening than expected due to the film being a National holiday release and is coming at the box office after a considerable lull given that the last few releases were poor performers at the box office, except Grand Masti.

Since the film is directed by Abhinav Kashyap, whose Dabangg had become a rage, catapulting Salman Khan into an unbreakable mould, it is yet to see if he has managed to do the same with Ranbir Kapoor! R.K’s last film ranks as the 2nd highest opener of 2013 and holiday factor, along with higher screen count might work as a catalyst in making this film beat his earlier best.
Though Besharam is less extensively promoted than Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani along with the former flame factor with Deepika Padukone and their post-break chemistry lacking in this film, word of mouth is going to play in crucial role in the film’s pick up, post its opening day!
