Mukul Sharma’s short story translated on screen by Kanan Iyer despite all its three witches in the film failed to create a symphonic chord with its audiences. While a less innovative story worked better at the box office with its relatively fresher star cast, Aashiqui 2 has found a new feather on its cap. By the conclusion of the film’s Monday collections, it was already a hit and leveling up to Vishal Bharadwaj and Ekta Kapoor’s Ek Thi Daayan starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Emraan Hashmi and Huma Qureshi in mesmerizing roles.
