2nd Tuesday Box Office : Airlift Is Akshay Kumar’s 4th Highest Grosser Already

Within 12 days, Airlift has turned out to be Akshay Kumar’s 3rd Highest Grosser. The film brought in around 2.61 crore on its second Tuesday, and as a result, the collections stand at 107.90 crore.

This is how Akshay Kumar’s biggest films are currently placed:

Airlift – 107.90 crore (still running)
Holiday – 112.65 crore
Housefull 2 – 114 crore
Rowdy Rathore – 131 crore

As things stand today, Holiday and Housefull 2 would be comfortably surpassed before close of third weekend. However, Rowdy Rathore record would stay untouched.

Still, the film would emerge as Akshay Kumar’s second biggest hit by a good distance. This is also no mean feat since it is a niche film, when compared to Rowdy Rathore which was an out and out ‘masala’ affair.

Airlift is a now a Superhit commercially and a superb start for Akshay Kumar this year, what with films as varied as Housefull 3 and Rustom lined up for release in months to follow.
