Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan has turned out to be a big hit in 2024. The supernatural thriller also stars R Madhavan, Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala and Anngad Raaj. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the story is written by Aamil Keeyan Khan. It is a remake of the 2023 Gujarati film, Vash, directed by Krishnadev Yagnik. As of March 26, the film has earned 132.25 crores at the Indian Box Office.
When Shaitaan was released in theatres on March 8, 2024, it received mixed reactions from critics. However, the audience seems to have loved the creepy and intriguing elements of the Ajay Devgn starrer. Hence, the big update is that the actor, who was also one of the film’s producers, is planning to make Shaitaan 2.
A report by Hindustan Times mentioned that the film will go on floors in a few months once the cast is finalised. The makers might recast the same actors for the sequel. The source told the daily, “The story further will be based in Kokam, Maharashtra, which is popularly known as the black magic centre of the state. The narrative will develop around more complexities and energies of black magic.”
The source also mentioned that in Shaitaan 2, no other family will be targeted, but the makers are planning a different angle on the subject of black magic. Will Janki Bodiwala, the girl who gets possessed by the devil in Part 1, return for the sequel? The source adds, “Well, you know how filmmakers work, right? Sometimes, it’s better to keep the details under wraps until the right moment. Just like in Shaitaan 2, where secrets and surprises are part of the thrill. Let’s just say, expect the unexpected and get ready for a rollercoaster ride of devilish proportions!”

Meanwhile, Shaitaan movie has an open ending. Ajay Devgn’s character doesn’t kill the devil, played by R Madhavan in the end. He’s trapped in an underground basement. So will Madhavan rise to power again, or will someone come to help him, which will help the sequel with a chilling story? Only the makers can give us a clue now.
