Shahid Kapoor has come out in the open to talk about the mixed reactions that his movie Kabir Singh with Kiara Advani, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga experienced. He also said that a rough and tough character like Kabir Singh gets accepted from Hollywood but is heavily judged in Bollywood. He also stated reasons on why he didn’t do interviews since the past 5 weeks post the release of the movie.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama journalist, Faridoon Shahryar Shahid said “The reason I didn’t do an interview is that I felt everyone was very aggressive. And I didn’t think it was healthy. I didn’t want to come out attacking anybody. I didn’t want to come out defending a film. I wanted to speak about a film like a film should be spoken about.”

He further added,”It’s interesting to see people, who make weekend conversation over it, seem to feel so much more of a sense of ownership on the film than those people who actually spent a year making it,” Shahid Kapoor added.

He further revealed about the myths that came across that a hero and a villain need a certain projection. The actor said,” Heroes and villains used to be a think of the past. It is all about the protagonist and antagonist in the current generation. In Kabir Singh, the antagonist is Kabir Singh himself. He is his own problem. The one problem he has is anger management. When he gets angry, he messes everything up. Whether it is his girlfriend, family, career, bai [maid], dog or himself, he messes it all up when he loses his temper. It is interesting that the film shows that one thing in extreme can take you down to zero. That’s what the protagonist’s father says in the first line of the film too that ‘your brother is as good as zero’! That’s where the film stars from.”
