Shahid Kapoor is indeed having the time of his Bollywood career with his latest romantic flick, Kabir Singh, which proved out why he’s a ‘rebel with a cause’. The movie did exceptionally well and helped him earn a blockbuster feather in his cap, but looks like the actor is confident than ever with his demand in terms of fees for the next, which is being said to be Nani’s Telugu hit, Jersey.

As per the recent rumours doing the round, Shahid is in conversation with the makers and is about to set on the dotted line. However, the actor has demanded for a fee which is as huge as 40 crores! Let’s see if the makers will agree to it or not!

Meanwhile, it is being said that the rights of the remake has been acquired by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions.

For the uninitiated, the original movie, Jersey, starred Nani and Shraddha Srinath and was reportedly made on a budget of 30 crores, which is lesser than Shahid’s demand.

Meanwhile, Shahid feels Indian cinema and the audience have come a long way.

“More power to brave choices. More power to you all for your maturity and humanness. You have given me wings to fly. To not only be burdened by the need to be loved to be a star but to have the courage to be hated in equal measure to be an actor. Here’s to cinema mirroring life.

“To protagonists who don’t have to be restricted by their goodness and can be human and imperfect. There is perfection in imperfection and that is the beauty and the challenge of this human life,” he wrote.

The actor’s post was accompanied by a motion poster of the film. It reads “A blockbuster hit. Rs 206.48 crore and counting”.

Kabir Singh“, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, also features Kiara Advani in a pivotal role.
