Ranveer Singh & Katrina Kaif To Romance Each Other For The First Time In Zoya Akhtar’s Gangster Drama?

It was recently when we learnt, Ranveer Singh might collaborate with his Gully Boy director Zoya Akhtar for the third time. Now if the grapevine is to go by, Zoya Akhtar is keen on roping in Katrina Kaif. If this turns out to be true, this will be the first time Ranveer and Katrina will be coming together.
For the unversed, fans of the two have been wanting to see Ranveer Singh and Katrina Kaif working together. Now according to reports, it looks like it’s happening. The Zoya Akhtar directorial we are talking about is a gangster drama in the dark space.
As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source close to the development said, “After Dil Dhadakne Do and Gully Boy, Ranveer Singh will be seen in Zoya’s next gangster drama. It’s again in the dark, gritty space that Gully Boy was. Ranveer has already okayed the film. They were in the process of locking dates when the lockdown happened. Post this, first Ranveer will sort his dates out for his already committed films and then start Zoya’s next.”
Though there has been no confirmation from any of the sides, the source claims that Katrina Kaif will be playing Ranveer’s romantic interest. The role is powerful and integral to the storyline. “Katrina and Ranveer will be romantically paired on screen for the first time. She has a very interesting and powerful role, integral to the life of Ranveer’s character in the film. Katrina and Zoya are great buddies and when the director narrated her the story, she immediately agreed to be part of it. The modalities are currently being discussed before both the stars sign on the dotted line, ” source said.
Meanwhile, speculations had that Katrina Kaif was also shortlisted for Ranveer Singh’s ’83, which later got Deepika Padukone on board. However, both the actors will share the screen in Sooryavanshi as well, but not opposite each other.
This will be Ranveer’s third film with Zoya Akhtar post-Dil Dhadakne Do and Gully Boy. The actor has a good line up including ’83, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Takht and a few unconfirmed projects. As for Katrina Kaif, the actor will be next seen in Sooryavanshi, and also has Phone Booth and Ali Abbas Zafar’s superhero film.
