After Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar, Bollywood is set to make a biopic on yet another Indian cricketing legend, Sourav Ganguly. Recently, renowned film produced Ekta Kapoor confirmed that she is in talks with Sourav Ganguly for getting a biopic made on the former Indian captain. The left handed batsman, popularly known as DADA too didn’t rule out on a possibility of the biopic.

“I have had a few discussions with Balaji, though nothing is final yet. I’ll have more details once we take this forward,” said Sourav while interacting with the media. The former Indian captain reinvented the manner of playing cricket in India and built an attitude in the team to not just win in India but also abroad. Sourav is truly known as one of the major pillar’s of Indian cricket and is credited for getting the fighting spirit and aggression in team India. His captain-ship aside, he is the second highest Indian run-scorer after Sachin Tendulkar in ODI’s and ended his career with over 11,000 runs.

Ganguly’s journey in cricket has everything that you need for a commercial Hindi film, right from controversies, to romance to inspiration. Be it his historic debut for team India in Lords in 1996, or his controversy with Greg Chappel in 2005 or the comeback in 2006 or the forceful retirement in 2008 at the peak of his career.
