Radhika Apte is currently on a career-high with the success of most of her recent outings including Andhadhun, Sacred Games and the Netflix’s anthology, Lust Stories. But the actress also has the writers credit to her name in Anurag Kashyap’s segment of Lust Stories.

Radhika Apte: “I Have Not Co-Written Lust Stories, It’s A Joke”

But now, in a rather interesting revelation made by Apte she has said that she, in fact, had never written anything for Anurag’s segment of Lust Stories. And what’s more is that she called the entire row a joke! Speaking to Hindustan Times about the same, Radhika said, “I have not co-written Lust Stories. It’s a joke. So basically, one night, (Anurag) Kashyap and I were having a drink. He said they are making Lust Stories and I said, ‘Oh, lovely!’”

She added, “Then I went to his house the day before we were supposed to shoot and asked, ‘Where is the script?’ He said, ‘It’s coming.’ I asked what the film is about and he said it’s a character study. I said, ‘Okay, so what’s my character?’ He said, ‘You don’t need to know.’ I said, ‘Then how am I supposed to do this?’”

Radhika further went on to reveal that she had written a monologue herself for a better understanding of her character in the series. And though Anurag edited out the entire monologue in the final cut, he told Radhika that he would give her the writer’s credit. “I put it in my official contract that my name will not be there as a writer. And he changed it when he was doing the titles and my name is there as a writer. It’s a joke between the two of us.”
