That Ali Abbas Zafar is making a trilogy based on the 1987 cult Hindi film Mr. India has already dominated the mainstream headlines. While the news is being celebrated, Shekhar Kapur, director of the original is not happy and has also revealed that no one has mentioned to him that the film was being titled Mr. India 2.
Shekhar took on Twitter and wrote, “No one has even asked me or mentioned to me about this film called Mr India 2. I can only guess that they using the title to get a big weekend. For they cannot use the characters/story without permission from the original creators of the film.”

His reaction came after a netizen tagged him in a tweet and told him to stop the film from being remade. The user wrote, “It is completely a bad idea…. This film should not remade for its cult classic status. No one ever can match #Sridevi ji ‘s powerhouse performance and screen presence and #Amrish ji’s stealer act. It will fail vary badly. @shekharkapur Sir plz kuch karo. @BoneyKapoor Sir plzz.
