Kartik Aaryan has been in news recently for making people aware of the ongoing crisis and the importance of lockdown through videos & memes. He has even started a show on YouTube #KokiPoochega in which he chats with COVID-19 warriors. The actor has got so much appreciation for this but lately, he has found himself in trouble.

Kartik recently got a huge backlash for posting a fun video on Instagram. In the video, Kartik is seen throwing off his sister from the balcony after not liking the food she has made. Kartik was slammed by many people for promoting domestic violence in the video and even Bollywood celebs criticised his act.

Singer Sona Mohapatra who is known for speaking up against the things she finds wrong also took the matter. She didn’t just call it a PR stunt but also called it a strategy to provoke feminists and gain free publicity from them.

Sona took to Twitter and shared a thread of celebs slamming her. Additionally, she wrote, “I have begun to believe that thus is a new PR strategy for many. Put out misogynistic content or even hire a multiple #MeToo accused & then wait for the feminists to speak up & protest & thus amplify? Free ka publicity. Case in point Kabir Singh, Indian Idol & maybe this too?”

Filmmaker Onir also criticised as he wrote, “Idiotic .. someone should tell him since he is too dumb to understand that a lot of responsible Film industry members have put out a message against domestic violence and this is NOT FUNNY . But then who are we taking to …”

After receiving so much backlash, Kartik deleted the video from his Instagram account.

Interestingly, Kartik has also posted another fun video on Instagram in which he is seen taking a slap from his sister.

On the work front, Kartik will be next seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dostana 2.
