Is Govinda A Part Of Varun Dhawan & Sara Ali Khan Starrer Coolie No. 1?

Govinda and Karisma Kapoor starrer Coolie No. 1, which released back in 1995, is still considered a cult classic. The film is now getting its remake with Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan stepping in the roles of these veteran actors. The posters of the 2020 film were released a few days back and were well received by the audience as well but many still wonder if Govinda will be a part of the remake or not.

According to reports by Bollywood Hungama, there is no possibility of the original actor’s appearance in this adaptation, not even a cameo. The writer of the film, Farhad Samji has revealed that he hoped that a cameo by Govinda was in the pipeline but there is no talk about it. Govinda’s cameo in the film would be like a cherry on the cake for the makers of the film but it won’t be possible for reasons kept under wraps.

Farhad pointed out that Coolie No. 1 has always been a tribute to the comedy legend, Govinda, since its inception and they would love to keep it that way. Farhad even added that despite David Dhawan’s equation with Govinda, he has always said that there can never be an actor like him. he assured that they have tried to preserve the charm of the original film while adding freshness to the story.
