When it comes to Bollywood, there is nothing permanent and temporary, neither friendships, relationships nor success. While rumor mills thrive on this industry, there are also insiders who know it all. One such Bollywood ‘friendship turning sour’ story is that of Arjun Rampal and Shah Rukh Khan. Well, certainly ever since talks about rifts between the two actors have hit the stands, we have not seen them working together in any film. Previously, the two have been seen in several films and most of their films have been a hit at the box office.
Arjun Rampal is not exactly known for his acting prowess but thanks to his strong screen presence, the actor has starred in over 43 films in his career. After stepping foot into Bollywood post modelling, the actor is recognized for his roles in film such Aankhen, Don, Om Shanti Om, Rock On, Housefull, Raajneeti and Ra.One. If observed carefully, it is quite clear that amongst these films, he is most known for the three hits with Shah Rukh which include Don,Om Shanti Om and Ra. One.

First out of the three, Rampal was seen in a strong supporting character in Don. As Jasjeet, he even won praises for his small yet notable role. After this, he made the villainous Mukesh ‘Mike’ Mehra come to life in Om Shanti Om. Arjun not only fit the role with perfection, he even gave a stellar performance to back it up. With these two hits, it seemed like SRK and Arjun were bonding well and no sooner they were seen in 2011’s superhero drama Ra.One where Arjun played the lead antagonist opposite Shah Rukh. This was a big break for Arjun and in fact in the film too he won more praises over the lead which was quite shocking.
It was after Ra.One that the duo seemed to have parted ways and a lot of media reports claimed that the rifts were at a personal level too. Interestingly, post this friendly break-up, Arjun’s career could not resurface much. He was seen contributing in films like Raajneeti and Rock On but none of the films reached the required mark when it comes to box office success. Recently too the actor was seen in Roy which bombed at the box office.
Would it be safe to say that working with SRK was a midas touch for Arjun? Well, we just hope the duo reconcile and re-create some magic at the box office.
