There has been a lot of curiosity around the sequel of Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty’s Cocktail. A new cast has been finalized, and Shahid Kapoor is confirmed to be playing the leading male. Cocktail 2 Cast
While Kartik Aaryan was rumored to be in talks for the Cocktail sequel, Shahid Kapoor was ultimately finalized to play the lead role. It was earlier revealed that the Kabir Singh actor had given verbal confirmation to producer Dinesh Vijan and director Homi Adajania.
As for the female lead, a report by Peeping Moon claims Rashmika Mandanna has been finalized. A source close to the development claims Shahid Kapoor and the Pushpa 2 actress had been meaning to work together for a very long time. They were supposed to unite earlier for Anees Bazmee’s double-role comedy in 2023, but the project did not work out due to budget issues.
Rashmika and Shahid are now elated to finally share the screen in the musical romantic comedy.
Kriti Sanon to play the second female lead in Cocktail 2?
The report also claims that the producers are in talks with an actress who is a “frequent collaborator with Maddock Films.” Kriti Sanon is the female star who’s recently worked with the producers on multiple projects – Luka Chuppi, Mimi, and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.
We wonder if Kriti Sanon is in talks for Cocktail 2. Rumors suggest the discussions are in the final stage, so the mystery will be solved soon!
Ananya Panday & Sara Ali Khan out?
Earlier rumors also suggested Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday were in the race to play the two female leads in the love triangle. With the latest update, it looks like there has been some change of plans. Whether the actresses rejected the film or the producers changed their minds remains unknown.
