Well, that may not be possible but we do have a good news for your future movie outings. Ajay Devgn’s 2018 action thriller Raid is set to get a sequel, and below is all you need to know about it.
For the unversed, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film starred Devgn along with Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in leading roles. Raid garnered praises from fans and even turned out to be a hit affair at the box office. Now, producer Bhushan Kumar has confirmed Raid 2, and fans are finally elated with this exciting news amid the ongoing pandemic.
In a conversation with Mumbai Mirror, Bhushan Kumar revealed, “The franchise seeks to bring into the public eye heroes who work closely with intelligence agencies to track white-collar crimes. To this day, nobody knows the identity of the officer on whom Ajay’s Amay was modeled. Raid 2 will also be a tribute to men who don’t wear the uniform.”
Furthermore, the team revealed how their last collaboration in the form of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior was a huge success, and they feel the stress of making Raid 2 only bigger and better!
“It will be a huge multi-film franchise and Ajay ji and I, along with Kumar Mangat ji, are looking to take Raid forward. The script of Part 2 is being developed. Since the original was a much loved film, the sequel is a huge responsibility. After the super success of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, there’s a lot of pressure on this collaboration to live up to the expectation,” said co-producer Sushan.
Whether or not Ileana D’Cruz will be roped in for the sequel remains unknown, and that’s something that has left the fans wondering. Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’Cruz did turn out to be a hit couple in the original.
