In the Television industry, Ankita is a huge name. She rose to immense fame with her portrayal as Archana opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in Pavitra Rishta (2009). She’s been a part of many reality shows and daily soaps and made her foray into Bollywood with Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi (2019). She was also a part of Baaghi 3.

But did you know? Ankita Lokhande was traumatized and decided that she wouldn’t enter the film industry after casting a couch with a South producer. The Bigg Boss 17 contestant recalled how she gave an audition for a film and was called to sign the contract. She also got suspicious about how she got the role so easily but was elated and told her mother she is going to finalize the offer.
Ankita Lokhande told Hautterfly, “Jab mai sign karne gayee toh sirf mujhe andar bulaya aur meri co-ordinator ko rukne ko kaha. Mujhe bola gaya, ‘you have to compromise.’ I was just 19 at the time. Tabhi mera heroine banna hai walla phase chall raha tha. I played smart and asked again, toh mujhe kaha gaya, ‘Apko producer ke sath sona padega.'”
How Ankita Lokhande handled the casting couch incident
Being the boss babe she is, Ankita handled the situation really well. She told them their producer did not need any talent but just a woman to sleep with. However, she isn’t that woman. The Bigg Boss 17 contestant then walked off.
The incident left Ankita Lokhande scarred! To the extent that she felt humiliated and decided she would never work in films. But we’re glad she’s overcome her fears and is entertaining her massive fan base on the big screens.
