After impressing everyone with a powerful debut in Heropanti, Tiger Shroff is all set to give another power packed performance with his next, Baaghi. The trailer of his second film, released yesterday and well, however formulaic the trailer may seem, we hope there is more than what meets the eye in this action-romance drama.
This time romancing his childhood friend, Tiger will be seen alongside Shraddha Kapoor who is once again banking on her girl-next-door image with a bit of rebellious twist.
The trailer takes off with Shraddha’s character Sia introducing herself as a ‘rebel’. This side of her is next seen in a series of shots where she kicks some asses with her action antics. Well, these are the only scenes in the film that try to portray her character differently but soon enough she is back to her ‘Ek Villain‘ type image with the dialogue ‘Tu Jo Apne Naino Se Baan Chala Raha Hai Na, Wo Mujhpe Kaam Nai Karega, Limit Me Reh’.
One more difference would be a forced ‘Bikini’ scene (Her first in Bollywood).
On the other hand, Ronny (Tiger) is sent to a martial arts school that teaches Kalaripayattu. He is forced to take it up because his Dad wants him to learn discipline. Well, of course the school has a tough-to-please master who is unhappy with Ronny’s attitude. Cut to the next scene of Karate Kid and Mr. Miyagi’s training scenes with Daniel. This master is no less than Miyagi or Kung Fu Panda’s Master Shifu. At one point you even feel are the training scenes lifted from Kill Bill?
Well, in the midst of Ronny’s training and romance is also a villain who fancies his girl. Then the run of the mill romance will have the male lead saving his damsel in distress who is in the villain’s captive. Of course, all this has to be done with a series of shirtless scenes of Tiger Shroff and the flying kicks that prove who needs a superhero like Krish when we have him.
Thus Sabbir Khan plays to the gallery and gives the audiences something they may have watched several times but just not with the same locations and leads. Baaghi‘s trailer looks exactly of the kind that will appeal to the young college going audiences who want love,action, romance and a good soundtrack for a film to be loved.
