Day Two of Welcome Back has proved that the fantastic opening that it garnered on Friday was not a fluke. Also, the fact that it managed to show further growth in collections only reaffirms the positive word of mouth that the Anees Bazmee directed film has enjoyed. As a result, 17.05 crores further came in on Saturday, which is quite healthy for the Firoz Nadiadwallah and Eros film that now stands around the 31.40 crores mark.

With this, the stage is now set for the Anil Kapoor-John Abraham-Nana Patekar-Paresh Rawal starrer to make further moolah on Sunday and cross the 50 crore mark.

Other than Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the only other Hindi film to have managed a weekend of over 50 crore this year is Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra’s Brothers [52.08 crore]. There are chances of this record to be broken by Welcome Back, which is finding audience across the country in A, B as well as C centers and in single screens as well as multiplexes.

It is as if family audiences were looking forward to a multi-starrer outing for long and they finally got it with Welcome Back. This year, there have hardly been any multi-starrer releases and the only major one was Dil Dhadakne Do (also starring Anil Kapoor) which was basically a multiplex outing and fetched only 37 crore over the weekend.

While that record is set to be passé, one now looks forward to how much further does Welcome Back progress.
