Just about nothing has worked for Satya 2. Right from its release related hassles to its marketing and then finally the product in itself, there were issues with the Ram Gopal Varma directed affair that has turned out to be a downer at the box office. The film didn’t even get a very widespread release and the show timings in theatres were haphazard as well, what with Krrish 3 continuing to find the best of the slots.

While this was still on expected lines, as mentioned in last week’s columns, there was good hope that if critical response to the film would be positive, there would be some revival that it would manage. That was not the case either as majority of reviews were negative with a handful of average to good reviews coming the film’s way.

This is the reason why it was disheartening to see the film turn out to be lowest RGV opener ever, what with just about 5%-10% footfalls on the opening day. The situation didn’t improve over the weekend either as Krrish 3 further took over in full force and there weren’t many takers for Satya 2. As a result, only around 1.5 crore came in over the weekend and there isn’t much moolah that the film can expect from this point on, what with Ramleela arriving this Friday.
