Ajay Devgn’s has had a golden run at the box office, and the film will soon be arriving on OTT. Reports suggest that the makers have grabbed a good deal of money for digital rights. While we thought of seeing the original film beforehand to make a curious comparison between both films, we discovered that the OG currently does not exist!
Now, if you ask why we were curious, then the IMDb rating for Vash stands higher than Shaitaan. Vash is rated 8.3, while The horror flick helmed by Vikas Bahl is rated 7.5. The Ajay Devgn starrer is a remake of a Gujarati film, Vash, and the remake rights were bought by Mangat Kumar and Abhishek Pathak for this brilliant film.
The original film was helmed by Krishnadev Yagnik and also stars Janki Bodiwala as the girl trapped in black magic by a Tantrik. Interestingly, while Vash was released in 2023, it still has not found its way in the digital world.
Where To Watch Shaitaan
Shaitaan is still available in some theaters, but if you want to watch the film comfortably on your couches in your home, you need to look out for Netflix, where the film will arrive after having a solid run in the theaters.
When To Watch Shaitaan
According to the basic rule of releases, Shaitaan, which was released on March 8, might drop on Netflix from May 3, 2024. The film will be making its way digitally in the first week of May since it will definitely burn out after Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s arrival on Eid in April.
Shaitaan Star Cast
The film stars Ajay Devgn as a helpless father, something he has already nailed in the Drishyam series. It stars R Madhavan as the lead, the devil who has been earning accolades for his performance as the antagonist. Jyothika makes a comeback to Hindi movies after her debut film in 1998; meanwhile, Janki Bodiwala replays her part from the original movie as the daughter.

The film had a phenomenal run at the box office. It opened at 15.21 crore, higher than what was expected. After putting up a 55 crore weekend, the horror flick helmed by Vikas Bahl currently stands at 142.72 crore and is chasing the 150 crore mark.
Shaitaan Story
The official synopsis of the film says, “A timeless tale of the battle between good and evil with a family embodying the forces of righteousness while a man symbolizes malevolence.” Madhavan plays a Tantrik who does black magic on a young girl to attain superpowers.
The ‘Shaitaan’ Strategy For Vash
It seems like Shaitaan makers did not want anyone to see Vash before they saw Shaitaan, and the Gujarati film is still not available on any streaming platform. It was supposed to stream on Shemaroo’s official YouTube Channel till Abhishek Pathak struck a deal with Shemaroo.
