We have seen him as a loverboy in ‘Love Aaj Kal‘, the ever confused soul in ‘Dil Chahta Hai‘ , the scary antagonist in ‘Omkara‘ , Saif Ali Khan has over the years, shown great variety in his roles.The actor also won a national award for his performance in ‘Hum Tum’.
Coming from a film family, his mother Sharmila Tagore being one of the A lister Bollywood actresses, Saif always had exposure to the film industry. The Nawab kid although had no such intentions. He recalls, ” I never wanted to be an actor”.

Young Saif was not starry eyed about showbiz. It was when Anand Mahendroo, the famous sitcom director of ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’ fame approached Saif for a film. Grabbing this opportunity, Saif hopped on to the B-town trail. Calling himself lucky, Saif states ” I had no clue what I wanted to pursue as my career”. He further adds that once he took up acting, there was no looking back since he fit perfectly well into the Bollywood setup.
